The Bethania Group is currently recruiting for a **Full time Term Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator** to approx. June, 2024 for the Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home located at 1045 Concordia Ave. in Winnipeg. MB.

We strive to provide the highest quality of care to all of our residents. To that end, we depend on the skills and compassionate caring of individuals in a variety of disciplines including our Recreation Department.

The biweekly hours for this position are 77.50 working primarily days. The current shift is 8.30 am to 4.45 pm. Availability for weekends is required during events.

Reporting to the Director of Therapeutic Recreation, the Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator collaboratively develops implements and evaluates Therapeutic Recreation services and/or recreation-based activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- completes initial and ongoing Therapeutic Recreation assessments
- provides appropriate resident centered programs
- ensures resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are promoted
- fosters and maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers
- promotes a positive team spirit within the department and the Home
- supports standards of the profession

**Requirements**:

- Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator for Older Adults Certificate or related post-secondary education
- recent experience in Therapeutic Recreation and/or other recreation program delivery preferred
- proficient writing and verbal communication skills
- exceptional organizational skills
- creativity and high motivation
- experience working with seniors - particularly in Long Term Care
- current Certified Food Handler Certificate
- ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members
- demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the position
