**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Waste Planning, the Waste Management Program Coordinator will assist with the planning, coordination and administration of waste management programs to support the divisional objectives and long-term strategic goals.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Assists_ _with the planning, co-ordination, and administration of waste management programs and the related public relations including attendance at public meetings.
- Collects, evaluates and analyzes data relative to the waste management programs to create statistical management reports for benchmarking and performance management.
- Manages the distribution and reporting aspects of the Region’s Garbage Tag program.
- Conducts trend analysis to identify targets and areas for enhancement.
- Supports the planning and implementation of the Halton Solid Waste Management Strategy initiatives.
- Interprets and reviews compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
- Supports the planning and execution of Extended Producer Responsibility programs.
- Conducts research and analysis of new and emerging trends, policies and technologies in waste management for reporting and recommendations on Halton’s programs.
- Reviews site-plan and approval of new multi-residential developments to ensure compliance with Development Design Guidelines for Source Separation of Solid Waste
- Responds to public inquiries regarding the Region’s waste management programs.
- Represents the Region on external committees.
- Performs other duties as required.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
Essential
- University degree or diploma in Environmental Science/Studies with two (2) years’ experience in solid waste management.
- Broad knowledge, skills and experience in research, data management, policy development/analysis, planning and program evaluation are essential.
- Possess excellent team building, time management, multi-tasking and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in sound data analysis, excellent customer service and complaint resolution skills are essential.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

- The incumbent will be required to drive a Regional vehicle
- Travel may be required between locations within Halton Region, the incumbent must have and supply own transportation.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with waste program implementation.

**Employment Conditions**
- Current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check, by first day of employment.
- The incumbent will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license by their first day of employment.
