**Introduction**:
Evergreen is looking for a Building Operator to support our Facility Management team at Evergreen Brick Works (EBW). We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, a commitment to sustainable practices and an interest in growing with our team.

Our Facility Management team includes the operations and maintenance team and the gardening team. As a building operator, you are integral to supporting our lively EBW site and play a key role helping to ensure the success of operations, programs and events.

**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Building Operator will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine inspections for all major equipment including but not limited to temperatures, pressures, electrical readings, etc. Document and inspect for irregularities in readings.
- Review and complete daily entries into logs as required.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks including but not limited to chemical treatment maintenance, filter changes, belt replacement, lubrications, cleaning of utility rooms, maintenance of fire prevention systems, testing and inspecting equipment for proper operation and input histories if required.
- Complete minor maintenance repairs including basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical and miscellaneous repairs on site.
- Start-up/shutdown major building equipment as required or directed.
- Inspect, operate, maintain and repair mechanical/electrical systems including but not limited to boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, pumps, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, life safety system, etc., and ensure all equipment are operated in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable government codes and regulations.
- Perform daily walkthroughs of all facility spaces to ensure a proactive approach is taken with preventative repairs, such as lighting, plumbing, or space temperature.
- Ensure building systems are setup correctly to support events & programming ventures.
- Proactively communicate with the Facilities Maintenance Manager on any system issues, both active and preventatively, to ensure vendors - where required - can be communicated with, preventing service disruptions.
- Provides administration for security processes including procurement and delivery of keys/key cards, and monitoring/adjusting elevator/security schedules as needed.
- Ability to use tools, both manual and power tools.
- Liaison with vendors and build/maintain positive relationships with all EBW vendors.
- Complete tenant requests as required.
- Provide support across departments as required.
- Other duties as required.

You have the following qualifications:

- 3 - 5 years’ experience in Facilities Maintenance
- Strong understanding of building infrastructure (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration, etc.)
- Strong understanding of building automation
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledgeable in LEED and other building/property sustainability programs and accreditation an asset
- Valid class ‘G’ driver’s license an asset
- Working at heights and areal work platform certification
- Knowledge of forklift operation and general contracting background an asset
- First-aid/CPR certification an asset
