Our INVISTA Kingston, ON facility is seeking an entrepreneurial, Automation Technician to join our team. **What You Will Do In Your Role**:
The Automation Technician is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of our material handling automation equipment. You will:

- Perform routing preventive maintenance and condition monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of material handing equipment including motors, conveyor systems, variable frequency drives, soft starters, sensors, ethernet networks, vision systems, robotic equipment, PLC’s and HMI’s.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assist in the development, improvement and implementation of strategies to improve reliability and operational performance.
- Provide training for operating team members to build capability within the shift.
- Expand your capabilities as needed to create superior value.
- Read and interpret technical work orders, manuals, single line electrical drawings, electrical code specifications, schematics, P&IDs and instrument loop drawings

**The Experience You Will Bring**:
**Requirements**:

- Electromechanical Engineering (Mechatronics) Technician/Technologist Diploma, Instrumentation & Controls technician/Technologist Diploma, Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma
- 2-years work experience servicing and maintaining material handling automation equipment or equivalent
- Experience working with and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and P&IDs
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, locate, identify, and diagnose malfunctions
- Strong ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with peers, operations, engineering, and management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and interest in continuous learning and improvement.
- Must place a high value on safety and have past work experience demonstrating same
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, use of mobile technologies (tablets, phones, etc), use of apps, wi-fi connected technology.
- Ability to perform the physical duties for the job
- Able to work in a tobacco free environment
