**Position Summary**:
Western Mechanical Electrical Millwright Services Ltd. is seeking an IT Support Specialist at our company in Barrie, Ontario. The IT Support Specialist will provide support to a variety of office employees and field employees within our small-medium sized business of approximately 250 employees. The IT Support Specialist will work in our office at 160 Brock Street in Barrie, and report to the Senior Systems Administrator.
**Required Skills**:
- 2+ years experience as an IT Support Specialist in a medium scale environment.
- Hands-on technical work experience in systems administration & troubleshooting of Windows Server 2012 R2.
- Hand-on experience in newer operating systems, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Windows File-Server sharing.
- A solid understanding of Windows, Windows Server, iSO, and Android operating systems.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient knowledge of systems networking as it relates to infrastructure needs.
- Proficient knowledge in administration of Office 365 and Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
- Proficient knowledge in the use of standard office productivity tools (i.e., Microsoft Word/Outlook/Excel).
- Experience with Windows Hyper-V Server and VMware an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL server an asset.
**Physical Requirements**:
Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds throughout the work week, and daily lifting of under 25 pounds.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, printers & scanners.
- Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions.
- Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests to onboard new users to the system.
- Assist with mobile device management; which includes, setting up new phones, upgrading existing devices, trouble shooting issues users face.
- Internal phone system, updating contacts, phone numbers and names, and trouble shooting issues with the devices.
- Communicate with employees to diagnose technical issues.
- Provide employees with step-by-step instructions to fix technical issues.
- Maintain system documentation for support and auditing purposes.
- Various duties that arise as needs within the department change.
In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the incumbent is expected to behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication, demonstrate effectiveness in working in a team-based collaborative environment, and demonstrate confidence in decision-making and in building strong working relationships within the organization.
**Term, Hours of Work and Compensation**:
- This is a full-time role
- 40 hours per week
- 5 days a week, Monday-Friday
- The role is entitled to vacation pay and paid statutory holidays

**Salary**: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
