Preclinical Laboratory Assistant

Reporting to the Genomic Research Responsible, the Preclinical Laboratory Assistant will participate in the activities of the preclinical laboratory and support the teams in their work.
- **Responsibilities**_
- Participate in maintaining the inventory of the bacterial culture collection using the electronic inventory system.
- Prepare bacterial culture media.
- Perform various laboratory analyses, such as nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, immunological tests, microbiological tests, etc.
- Assist other team members in R&D projects.
- Maintain a detailed electronic laboratory notebook.
- Participate in the maintenance of equipment to ensure their optimal performance.
- Communicate scientific results through internal reports, posters and presentations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment, in respect of internal rules and procedures, and external regulations.
- Any other related tasks.
- **Requirements**_
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or a College diploma in life science (Biology, Biochemistry, Cell biology, Molecular Biology, etc.)
- Minimum one (1) year of laboratory experience in Microbiology, Molecular biology, or Biochemistry.
- Familiar with molecular techniques and microbial physiology.
- Good analytical and synthesis skills to handle complex topics.
- Autonomous, organized, detail oriented.
- Teamwork oriented.
- Ability to adapt and use judgment.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft 365, LIMS).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
- **Work conditions**_
- Workplace: 6100 avenue Royalmount, Montreal, QC;
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday;
- Possibility of partial remote work;
- Salary according to the experience;
