Helpdesk Support Technician (12-month contract)
(Campbell River, BC)

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused member to fill the temporary full-time role of Helpdesk Support Technician in our IT Department based out of our Campbell River office. This position is for a 12-month term and will take place during our project to refresh and modernize our infrastructure and network.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring efficient problem resolution, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will play a key role in updating our documentation and supporting the import and auditing of IT asset information.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, ensuring prompt and effective problem resolution during our project to refresh and modernize our infrastructure and network.
- Update documentation related to hardware, software, and network systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Support the import and auditing of IT asset information, ensuring proper tracking and management of hardware and software assets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate complex issues and coordinate problem resolution.
- Conduct system upgrades, patches, and migrations to ensure a secure and optimized technology environment.
- Document support activities, solutions, and procedures, contributing to the enhancement of our knowledge management resources.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring clear and effective communication with end-users throughout the support process.

**Education, experience, and skills**:

- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (considered an asset).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar helpdesk or deskside support role.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) or Mobile Application Management (MAM) is highly desirable.
- Experience with Active Directory, user account management, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and customer-centric approach.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with end-users of varying technical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar certifications are a plus.
