Dental Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated _**Dental Assistant**_ to join our team This position is a maternity leave for a minimum of one year. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with our dentists and dental hygienists to provide exceptional patient care. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized dental office environment.
**Duties**:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment area, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist as needed
- Take digital dental x-rays
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic dental software (Abeldent)
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as managing patient billing
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assistant program preferred. HARP certification is an asset.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Familiarity with Abeldent or similar dental software is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion for patients
