Loader Operator

Edmonton, Canada Mid-City Construction Management Inc. Full time

**Responsibilities**:

- Safely and skillfully operate a loader to move sand, dirt, gravel, concrete, and asphalt.
- Safely and skillfully use various attachments such as buckets, breakers, hoe packs, etc.
- Perform smaller jobs requiring tight maneuvering such as digging around manholes, pipes, valves, etc., etc., but must be able to complete larger jobs as well.
- Safely drive the loader on city streets in order to get from site to site.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance, and keep all machines clean and in good working order--inside and out.
- Complete regular walk around inspections and log Field Level Hazard Assessments.
- Fill out and hand-in daily Job Ticket Cards.
- Work in a team environment with safety being your number one goal.
- Complete training and/or site orientations when required.
- Complete any other duties as required.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
- Be willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime when necessary (8-12 hour shifts; 5-6 days a week).
- Must have a strong work ethic and an ability to work in a team setting.
- Encompassing good communication skills for the ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, the general public, etc. in a courteous, and professional manner at all times.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**
- 2 years of loader experience is required.
- Be able to comfortably and safely perform all loader tasks without incidents, accidents, or causing damages.
- 2 years of experience in the water and sewer division is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle to travel to and from the worksite.
