Successful applicants will be compensated at the Remedial Rate ($46.50/hour x 10 hours)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An Ontario Teacher’s Certificate of Qualification
A University Degree
Qualifications to teach in two divisions (intermediate/senior preferred)
District or system level experience in an equity-related role (preferred)
Five years Secondary teaching experience (preferred)
KEY COMPETENCIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
**Successful applicants for the DEI writing team will have**:
in-depth knowledge of Culturally Relevant and Responsive Pedagogy (CRRP) and anti-oppressive pedagogy
familiarity with the recently released Grade 7 and 8 Language curriculum;
a repertoire of effective evidence-informed instructional strategies to engage students in learning;
in-depth knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting;
experience using a variety of digital tools to support online instruction, assessment and student engagement;
an ability to align professional learning with system priorities;
experience in the design and facilitation of effective professional learning;
experience working in collaboration with colleagues;
excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; and

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
**The successful applicant will**:
work collaboratively with the Grades 7 and 8 Language writing team to create culturally responsive, anti-oppressive resources to support Grades 7 and 8 educators with the implementation of the recent Grades 7 and 8 Language curriculum.
Scope and Sequence for Grades 7 and 8 Language aligned with the new curriculum
First 20 Days’ resources to support educators to establish effective culturally-responsive instruction, assessment, and evaluation practices in multi-level classrooms
build educator capacity related to culturally responsive and anti-oppressive instruction and assessment practices
other responsibilities to be determined based on the emerging learning needs of the system
