**Responsibilities**:

- All staffs must be up to date with required immunizations
- Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and a clear 2 Step TB Test will be needed once offered a position
- All staffs working with children are required to have a valid standard first aid certificate and Child Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) including infant and child
- To have a working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act. Understand and comply with provincial, municipal, and our daycare programs and policies
- Maintain qualifications and certifications as required by HarmonyHills standards
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Other duties as assigned

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Center Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals for children in our care. Your culinary skills and knowledge of food safety will ensure that all meals meet dietary guidelines and promote healthy eating habits among the children.

**Position Overview**

Qualifications include but are not limited to:
⦁ Legally able to work in Canada

⦁ Experience cooking in a large setting and meal preparation is required

⦁ Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling is essential

⦁ Experience in early learning education centre meal preparation is an asset

⦁ Proper food handling techniques and safety practices

⦁ Excellent communication skills to interact positively with children and staff members

⦁ Plan menus that accommodate children's nutritional needs, preferences, and any allergies or dietary restrictions

⦁ Able to cook a variety of dishes and baked goods, etc. according to Public Health and Ministry of Education guidelines

⦁ Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management

⦁ Responsible for all kitchen documentations policies and procedures

⦁ Ensure kitchen is always clean and safe environment includes cleaning and managing ingredients, etc.

⦁ Collaborate with child care staff to create a positive dining experience for children during meal times

⦁ Reporting Relationship
- this position reports to the Director

⦁ Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping, pushing, carrying and pulling

⦁ Perform other duties as assigned

Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
