Notes:

The Learning Support Teacher, Family Base will provide support in the following areas:

- support to other Learning Support Teachers and classroom teachers in the teaching of struggling readers and in reading programs in identified schools
- leading and supporting the Wilson Reading Systems implementation and supporting newly trained staff
- work in identified schools during phases of the Wilson Reading roll out and future program roll outs
- additional Tier 1-3 reading programs/instructional strategies as required
- establishing systems & routines
- Scheduling and caseload management
- Selection of appropriate evidence-based interventions to support students
- Carry a small caseload in identified schools to maintain proficiency
Qualifications:

- Family Based Learning Support Teacher
- Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education Degree, and;
- Masters Degree in Special Education, Diverse Learners (SLDNE), Master of Education in Inclusive Education (Curriculum & Instruction)
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years successful teaching experience, and;
- Minimum 3 years' experience implementing the Program Planning Process

Additional Assets:

Reporting to the Coordinator of Student Services, the Family Based LST will work with the Student Services Consultant and school administrators to train and support the implementation and evaluation of Tiered Reading programming supports including Wilson Reading Systems.

- Previous training and/or demonstrated experience in explicit and systematic reading instruction
- Experience in training, leading PD, and implementing programs with other educational staff
- Experience modelling, co-teaching, and observation/feedback
- Knowledge and experience of Teaching Support Teams, Student Planning Teams and the Program Planning Process
- Knowledge of classroom management and building positive student relationships
- Knowledge of local community supports
- Knowledge of Transition Planning
- Knowledge of Differentiated Instruction (DI), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
- Implementation of Adaptations & IPPs
- TIENET experience
