**JOB SUMMARY**:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Ontario Administration, facilitate and coordinate appropriate and timely professional development workshops for faculty, management and staff; design, plan and implement various programs to address institutional, departmental, and personal training needs; train, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**:

- Oversee and manage the process of providing and delivering the variety of qualification courses currently offered by NU (Ontario) ex. ABQs, AQs and Principal and Supervisory Officer Qualification courses
- Working with the Ontario recruiter, identify course offerings for each session
- Identify and publish dates for the 5 sessions each year
- Identify, secure and supervise qualified teachers for all courses
- Maintain and update course syllabi as required by the university and the OCT
- Collect and send course results to OCT in the required format
- Keep up to date with OCT directives through the OCT website
- Become familiar with and use NU platforms for registration and payment. Ex. SLATE, CANVAS and Colleague
- In consultation with NU Administration identify and establish areas for growth in the area of Professional Development
- Establish and deliver new professional development courses
- The successful applicant must have progressive technology and data management skills
- Maintain confidentiality of information (including but not limited to: student and employee personal information and student grades) both during and after their work with the University. Any questions regarding the confidentiality of material should be referred to the supervisor.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Proven experience as an office professional.
- Broad understanding of university policies and procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of various software systems including Microsoft Office Suite, and other reporting programs.
- Knowledge of labor and employment laws.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize important tasks are required.

**QUALIFICATION STANDARDS**:

- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Two years of higher education experience are required.
- A valid driver's license is required that satisfies both University requirements for driving a motor vehicle. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle in Canada.
