**THIS POSITION IS IN WHITBY**

We are looking for an Engaging Support Worker A person that is passionate about engaging in community events and helping others accomplish their goals

If this sounds like you, here is how you fit in:
A kind, creative, and motivated man in his late 20s, who lives in Whitby, is looking to engage with an interactive and easy-going support worker, who can spend time with them introducing them to their new community through social events and activities. As this person is working on literacy, they would also like help homework regarding reading and writing. This position would be best suited for a person who is looking for flexible and reliable casual work hours

You will work within a strengths-based approach, embracing the inclusion and inclusive practices that create and foster welcome, connection, and confidence.

You will work alongside him for 5 hours a week. The specific hours and days worked can be scheduled in advance by mutual agreement.

Key Requirements:
1. Travel is required, class G Ontario Drivers Licence

2. Completion of Vulnerable Sector Police check

3. Committed to respectful and strength based, person-centred approaches

4. Familiarity with community resources and community engagement within Durham Region, specifically Oshawa. Willing to facilitate creative engagement opportunities

5. Ability to find community engagement opportunities and events on a regular basis

6. Willing to support his interests

7. Ability to work alongside and help with literacy homework

8. Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19

Assets:
1. Comfortable around dogs

2. Tech Savvy, enjoy video games

Hourly Rate: $18/hr
