**Ophthalmic Assistant**
- Responsibilities:_

*Reception duties such as greeting patients, register patients, booking appointments and answering phones

*Complete pre-testing such as visual acuity measurement, measuring of intraocular pressures, administer eye drops and medications, perform Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) testing, Fundus Photography, Assist Physician with Fluorescein Angiography and Assist Physician with office surgery

*Provide excellent patient service and care
*Use appointment and patient file software (Accuro) and other available tools to make accurate and clear notes regarding patient eye health
*Be accountable for the quality and accuracy of all testing completed
*Staying aware and understanding changes made to protocols and procedures within the clinic
*Any other tasks as per required by the Clinical Director and/or Physician
- Skills Qualifications:_

*Excellent communication skills, must be professional
*Must have the ability to adapt to variety of patient types and be comfortable working in close contact with patients (especially elderly)
*Patience, approachability and calm demeanor
*Ability to manage patient expectations and concerns
*Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
*Adapt well to a high paced office, manage personal stress
*Team-oriented and collaborative, demonstrate a willingness to learn
*Familiar with computers and with an ability to learn new software and/or programs

*Experience in an Optometric or Ophthalmology office is an asset

Pay: $18.00-$18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
