OVERVIEW

The Sport Development Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to Swim NS operations including administering the membership registration process; officials development; provincial teams; and competition deliverables.

ROLES
- Work in a team environment to ensure operations of Swim NS are aligned with key stakeholders and partners.
- Membership Registration - Liaison with club registrars including providing support to ensure that swimmers, coaches, and officials are registered in the National Registration Database.
- Coach Compliance - Ensure coaches meet the minimum membership requirements and ensure such information is included and up to date in the registration database.
- Competition Development - Assist with the Swim NS meet sanctioning process and ensuring clubs have the necessary support and training to host a sanctioned competition; oversee Swim NS hosted/co-hosted events on behalf of the organization.
- Officials Development - Assist with the planning of official’s clinics and recruiting members of the Senior Officials community to conduct these clinics and ensuring officials clinics are maintained in the database.
- Provincial Team Programming - Provide planning and administrative support for all Swim NS Provincial Teams.
- Promotions - Develop social media posts and assist with the maintenance of the Swim NS webpage.
- Provide ongoing support and coverage for other staff within the organization from time to time.
- Provide written reports as required.
- Reconciliation of project finances and personal expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A knowledge and/or background in competitive swimming is preferred.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma preferably in kinesiology, recreation or sport administration or a combination of relevant training and experience.
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector and the provincial sport system.
- Strong Communication skills - both written and verbal; proficient in Microsoft MS Word and Excel with a working knowledge of Hytek Swimming software; both Meet Manager and Team Manager.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, well organized, with strong leadership skills as well as an ability to problem solve

independently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
- Must be a team player but also be able to work independently and understand that when working for a non-profit

organization it is important to be flexible and be willing to help whenever required. This may include assistance with duties that may lie outside the scope of your responsibilities.
- Must represent yourself in a professional and respectful manner providing Swim Nova Scotia with a positive image when communicating with members and external partners.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hours of work can be somewhat flexible; however, they must be agreed upon with the Executive Director.
- Evenings and weekend work will be required as well as some travel to competitions and meetings.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

- Salary commensurate with experience.
- Anticipated start date is April 1, 2024.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $30,000.00-$40,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 25 - 30 per week

- Monday to Friday
