Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post-secondary education in accounting, or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience providing banking services including; deposits, withdrawals, cash on hand, providing account balances, and doing bank deposits.
- Experience maintaining and distributing financial records including; processing payments, reviewing and processing payables, reconciliation statements, and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain accuracy and verify information in a high volume environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders; including patients with severe and persistent mental health concerns.
- Strong verbal communication skills to effectively relay information to patients regarding their personal finances, provide updates to authorized personnel, and to communicate with co-workers.
- Strong written communication skills to provide accurate reporting and information to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to analyze information and solve problems effectively and independently.
- Ability to plan and organize workload in a high volume, fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines.

**Desired**:

- Experience working in SAP computer programs.

**Duties**:
The Patient Trust Clerk is responsible for providing patients of Selkirk Mental Health Centre (SMHC) access to their funds while meeting the needs of their treatment plans through the provision of banking services within a safe environment. The position maintains patient banking records and funds held in trust, carries out routine banking activities for and with patients, hold valuables on behalf of the patients and prepares routine documents to support account oversight and planning.
