**Job Summary**

The Manager, Advance Analytics Optimization is responsible for developing the Terminal operating model of the future. The incumbent assists with solving operation and service issues by developing solutions for CN’s ongoing transformation in Intermodal (IM) Operation with the Smart Terminal Program and Continuous Improvement strategy in virtually every aspect of its business. The incumbent leverages statistical analysis, Artificial Intelligence (AI) machine learning, and optimization techniques to drive innovation and improvement in IM operations.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Develop initiatives to assist Supply Chain in a number of highly technical areas
- Use data science techniques to find data patterns, anomalies, and optimization opportunities
- Interpret, translate, and communicate analytical findings to business stakeholders
- Address and solve complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches
- Collaborate to implement data best practices through Data Lab, Data Hub,
- Provide analytical support by creating and sharing regular and ad hoc reports for projects and kaizens
- Identify simplification initiatives to allow for more effective data management to change the conversation from tactical to strategic
- Analyze data and develop solutions to define the operating models of the future using data science such as optimization or machine learning
- Work with Senior Terminal Managers, Terminal Managers, Supervisors, and Network Planning to recommend optimization improvements in Operation
- Influence IM Operation Management for fast and accurate decision-making on various aspects of the process such as capacity, productivity, process automation, and customer service
- Participate in change management
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities and leading projects
- Control and facilitate all data driven sessions on continuous improvements within all terminals across the network
- Analyze complex data sets and operational parameters to support leadership in decision-making while implementing new solutions and processes

**Working Conditions**

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The role requires mínimal travel (5%) for field visits.

**Requirements**:
**Experience**

Advance Data Analytics
- Between 4 to 5 years of experience with, transportation operations or planning and forecasting of operations, inventory management systems, operation management systems
- Experience in analytics, data science, and advance data modelling with a focus on driving business, engineering, logistics, and supply chain decisions
- Experience in developing Machine Learning and statistical models
- Experience with technology and operation automation projects
- Experience with Machine Learning algorithms *
- Experience in using Power BI and Tableau to deliver insight*
- Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset

**Education/Certification/Designation**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or Business
- Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Methods, Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, or equivalent*
- Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset

**Technical Skills/Knowledge**
- Advance Knowledge of Excel, Structured Query Language (SQL), Python
- Knowledge of process improvement tools and methodologies such as lean tools
- Knowledge of analytical and quantitative methodologies for mathematical optimization and statistical analysis
- Knowledge of data analysis, data mining, mathematical modelling and optimization, as well as algorithms
- Advance Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Power BI
- Experience in optimization software and mathematical programming languages such as CPLEX, Lingo or others*
