As the Director of Health Services, you will provide visionary leadership to advance the organization's public health initiatives and health services strategies. This role will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive programs addressing the complex needs of individuals needing support. The Director will drive innovation in public health practices while fostering strategic partnerships to enhance the services provided. The Director will be seen as a source of knowledge and is likely to be called upon as a key advisor on public health policies.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Health Services Strategy: Using your established clinical acumen, the position is responsible for the identification, development, implementation and measurement of the organization’s health services and public health strategies.
- Community and Staff Education and advocacy: Ensure effective community and staff education programs are in place that emphasizes values-based public health strategies while remaining current on trends and concerns arising. Build and maintain relationships in the community and advocate for better public health strategies and policies at the local, provincial and national levels where they are aligned with BSCS strategy and leadership direction.
- Ensure programming remains focused on the community members needing services in core sexual health and other infections, pregnancy, and drug-poisoning prevention and response, as well as any identified areas of focus for the organization.
- You are responsible to provide leadership, guidance and support to staff within the department, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- As the Director, you are responsible for creating and adhering to operational budgets for each area of responsibility.
- Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being are the primary organizational framework for culture and spirituality. The Director will be an active participant in traditional Indigenous Ceremony, and will ensure that this path is available to community members and colleagues.
- BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health or related field with current registration with the respective regulatory body is desired; applicable alternative education and experience, including lived experience, will be considered.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in public health with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Police Check with the Vulnerable Sector and Child and Youth Intervention Check completed within the past six months
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Experience with and knowledge of Indigenous culture and ceremonies is considered an asset.
