MSA Society is looking for qualified care giving professionals who value integrity, respect, and who understand the importance of a team and can build effective relationships with both individuals and other staff members.

**Position Summary**:
The Awake Overnight Residential Support Worker provides support, care, safety and security to Individual(s) living in the home and performs general housekeeping duties.

**Qualifications**:

- Education, Training and Experience:_
- Certificate in a related human/social service field
- 6 months of recent related experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Non-violent Crisis Intervention or Mandt is considered an asset
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Food Safe
- Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English

**Job Skills and Ability**:

- Ability to de-escalate and manage volatile behaviours
- Ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues and persons served
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to work both independently and within teams

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Monitors residents and attends to any medical and/or behavior needs that arise throughout the night using various de-escalation techniques to reduce aggressive and/or self-injurious behaviors.
- Provides support as required and reports all incidents to on-call and/or Team Leader
- Reviews and completes all documentation required
- Supports Individual(s) with evening and morning routines as required and in alignment with their behavioral/health support plan
- Administers medication in alignment with the Individual’s health plan and in accordance with agency policy & procedures.
- Engages with MSA’s staff team to provide a wrap-around approach to meet the Individual’s support needs and in compliance with their support plan(s).
- Performs light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, laundry, bathrooms and mopping floors. Performs minor maintenance such as changing light bulbs. Reports all maintenance needs to the Team

Leader.

**General**:

- Wage rate as per BCGEU Collective Agreement, Grid Level 6 | Step 1 - $19.66 per hour
- This position is eligible for Extended Health & Dental benefits
- This position is eligible for the Municipal Pension Plan

- This position requires successful completion of a criminal record check
- This position reports to the Team Leader
