The Marketing and Communications Assistant will assist the Communications, Marketing, and Engagement Specialist within the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs (FGSPA) at Brock University with various marketing and communications initiatives, campaigns, and events. Responsibilities may include:

- Creating compelling web, newsletter, and social media content aimed at educating and inspiring our target audience.
- Assisting in the development of creative projects within the faculty's realms of professional development, recruitment, scholarships and awards, and policies and procedures, to enhance user experience effectively and informatively.
- Develop an understanding of how users interact with FGSPA online and get to know our audiences/user groups.
- Conduct research, use reports and data, to support the team in identifying engagement communications improvement areas and creating a solution plan to increase engagement.

**Skills**:

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content
- Strong research skills to gather relevant information for communication purposes
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in a simple manner

**Experience working with Wordpress and Canva is considered an asset.**

**This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, therefore the successful applicant will need to meet the following**:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent residence, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations.
