Within the Ministry of Education and Child Care, the Resource Management Division's focus is to develop, allocate and administer the provincial education budget. The division ensures the school districts meet acceptable financial standards and implements provincial legislation and policy initiatives. The capital budget is allocated for new and replacement schools and for expansion and renovations to existing schools. Risk management plans are also managed in this division.
- The Financial Officer acts for the Resource Management Division managing Operating and Major Grant budgets, expenditures and coordinating data collection, compilation of transfer payments of Major Grants to School Districts and Independent Schools. This position also develops systems and procedures which meet Ministry and Central Agency requirements for adequate financial control and audit trails and ensure compliance with policies and procedures of the Resource Management Division.**Job Requirements**:

- Diploma in Accounting, Commerce or Economics or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Two (2) or more years related experience in expenditure and budget monitoring and reporting.
- Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
- Experience with Oracle-based financial systems and CAS Applications.
- Experience interpreting acts, regulations, policies and/or directives affecting positions, for example School Act and Regulations, Financial Administration Act, Core Policy and Procedures Manual, Manual of School Law, Freedom of Information Act.
