Maintenance Purchasing Agent - Day Shift

**Summary**:
Reporting to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement for the Maintenance team’s supplies and parts in addition to inventory control, within our food manufacturing facility.

**Responsibilities**:

- Purchases all maintenance tools and machine parts to maintain all machines in Scarborough facility and ensures the efficient and effective provision of all supplies used by the maintenance department.
- Generate Purchase Orders using D365 ERP system.
- Maintain records of open Purchase Orders and track outstanding orders.
- Ensures that best pricing and delivery terms are achieved.
- Sources new supplies and products, meets with salespeople to discover new items in the maintenance field and solicits quotations for parts and service work.
- Works with Maintenance Supervisor on cost control and the budget, tracks the costs of parts and services daily.
- Approve invoices for payment using LaserFiche program, daily.
- Ensures the shipping of parts to destinations within and without the plant as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Understands and follows all security policies.
- Participate co-operatively as an employee within the company Performance Appraisal Process and Performance Rating System, as well as in personal development or performance coaching programs (as required).
- Continually contributes to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending, and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
- Conducts any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required in a timely and professional manner.

**Qualifications**:

- Two-year community college diploma in a specialized training in a recognized technical program or vocational school
- Required
- Apprenticeship courses in a high skill trade which utilize and adapt processes based on a broad understanding of principles, practices, precedents, and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft outlook, MS Excel and MS Office
- D365 and LaserFiche knowledge preferred
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
