Your mission

You will be responsible for ensuring proper recording of payroll related expenses, as well as ensuring proper statement of payroll related balance sheet accounts.

Your main challenges

Ensures proper posting of payroll expense to the G/L each month.
Ensures proper statement of payroll related liabilities (salaries and wage accruals, employer tax liabilities, payroll withholding accruals, etc.) each month.
Analyzes and properly reconciles all payroll related balance sheet accounts. Ensures quick resolution of outstanding items.
Owns relationships with key customers - HR, FP&A, etc.
Works closely with HR team to investigate and resolve payroll issues.
Understands the nature of the business in order to proactively identify potential issues with payroll data received from third party provider.
Understands the entity’s complex legal structure and ensure appropriate recording of payroll related balances by legal entity.
Prepares recharges and reconciliations of payroll charges to other entities.
Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implement as appropriate.
Maintains proper controls and enforce policies and procedures.
Assumes additional responsibilities and assist with special projects as needed or directed.

**Profile**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
5+ years of relevant experience
Strong Accounting background
Strong critical thinking skills
Highly analytical
Self-disciplined/self-motivated
Good understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties
Ability to identify higher risk areas and ensure that those risks are properly controlled
Intermediate MS Excel
Knowledge of ADP payroll system, Oracle and/or SAP would be a strong asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills
Demonstrates willingness and ability to be a self-starter, taking the initiative to solve problems
Demonstrate the ability and desire to initiate and successfully accomplish personal and business goals
Ability to analyze problems, to compile data, to determine facts and reach a logical conclusion
Ability to prioritize and multi task
Constructively challenge the process and take the initiative to search for opportunities to grow, improve and innovate
Effective time management, organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to interact and respond professionally to complaints and inquiries from coworkers, management and customers
Ability to build strong business relationships in a team environment
French and English spoken and written
