After School Club Leader

**Job Summary**:
The After-School Games or Craft Club Leader will be responsible for planning and leading engaging games and craft activities for students in an after-school setting. The leader will create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment that fosters creativity, teamwork, and personal development.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Activity Planning and Implementation**:

- Plan and lead a variety of age-appropriate games and craft activities.
- Prepare all necessary materials and set up for each session.
- Adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of different age groups.

**Supervision and Safety**:

- Supervise students during activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere during games and craft sessions.
- Enforce program rules and discipline policies, addressing any issues that arise promptly and appropriately.

**Engagement and Encouragement**:

- Encourage students to participate actively and creatively in all activities.
- Support and guide students in developing new skills through games and crafts.
- Provide positive feedback and reinforcement to boost students’ confidence and enjoyment.

**Communication**:

- Communicate with parents, guardians, and the After-School Program Coordinator about student progress, behavior, and any issues that arise.
- Report any incidents or concerns to the After-School Program Coordinator promptly.

**Classroom Management**:

- Ensure that the activity area is clean and organized before and after sessions.
- Store materials and supplies properly after use.
- Monitor the condition of equipment and materials, reporting any damage or needed replacements to the coordinator.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting.
- Background in arts and crafts, sports, or a related field is a plus.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire children through creative activities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage groups of children effectively and safely.

**Certifications**:

- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Criminal Records Check.
- Responsible Adult certificate.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position may require working during late afternoons and early evenings.
- The leader will work primarily indoors but may include outdoor activities depending on the program.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 6 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Experience with children: 1 year (required)
