Job Summary

Our Avantor Lab Services team helps drive our global performance in supporting the innovation and growth objectives of labs across the globe. As our people are the most important part of our success, we are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Service Operations Specialist to perform customized, mission-based assignments that help return time back to science.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting multiple facilities and customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers or Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave and/or emergency situations occur.

What we’re looking for:

- University degree in science or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge in a related field such as Occupational Health & Safety
- 3 -5+ years experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/Inside Sales, etc.
- Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of Information Access and System SAP; proficient Microsoft Office and computer skills.
- Knowledge of IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG.
- Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances and medical checkups.
- Valid Driver’s License and transportation
- Prior experience with VWR products and services preferred.
- Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills.
- Must be exceedingly flexible, forward
- thinking, motivated, and have the ability to act independently.

How you will thrive and create an impact:

- Performs all duties associated with operations of Site Services.
- Works closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Training, and other assorted tasks along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.
- Interfaces directly with customer point-of-contact, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and material.
- Modifies, designs, and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.
- Meets safety, performance and quality goals and objectives.
- Requires traveling to customer sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
