**Position Purpose**

Reporting to the General Manager of Chef Ric's, the Lead Shipper/Receiver oversees all aspects of shipping, receiving and inventory management including documentation (i.e. log sheets, invoices, etc.). He/she is responsible for, but not limited to, receiving and appropriately storing all food services deliveries, bringing supplies to kitchen area as needed, keeping basement storerooms, loading dock neat and outside garbage area tidy.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Receive all deliveries including, food, paper products, chemical orders and other deliveries, overseeing condition and handling of incoming goods
- Unpack and sort goods received from suppliers and Ottawa Food Bank
- Transport goods to appropriate storage areas using proper lifting and carrying techniques
- Arrange goods in an organized manner in appropriate fridges, freezers or shelving (FIFO)
- Transport supplies as required
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of basement storeroom, fridges, freezers and loading dock
- Keep garbage area clean and tidy
- Obtain quotes, maintain inventory and ordering of kitchen food, paper and chemical supplies
- Keep accurate inventory sheets
- Place food bank and supplier orders
- Complete year-end inventory
- Rotate all stock - FIFO (First In, First Out)
- Adhere to all health and safety requirements in all daily activities
- Directing and working with team members and volunteers

**Other Requirements**

**Education**
- High School Diploma
- College Diploma considered an asset

**Experience**
- 3-5 years of experience in similar roles considered an asset

**Qualifications**
- HACCP, WHMIS and City of Ottawa Food Handlers Certification essential
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a very fast paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be a self-starter with a sense of urgency
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to flex schedule when necessary to accommodate operational requirements
- Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset

**Working Conditions**
- High degree of physical activity involving: walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, lifting, driving
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lift 50lbs required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work flexible hours and schedule, weekends and holidays may be required, as well as mornings and evening
- Overtime as required
