**Position Summary**:
The Production Planner will have the primary responsibility for planning supply to meet production demand in our ERP system.

**Reports To**:Senior Manager Production Planning and Forecasting

**Essential Functions**:
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

- Plan the supply to fill Demand
- Using Excel and our ERP System, plan supply requirements and track their progress through internal and external work centers
- Establish priority lists and resolve conflicts in priorities
- Discuss capacity issues with production and Master Scheduling
- Monitoring key metrics to ensure manufacturing performance, maintenance of accurate inventory counts and the timely closure of work orders
- Prepare for, and participate in, daily production meetings
- Resolving daily problems, through analysis and troubleshooting of issues associated with the key metrics
- Define and follow-up action plans to improve lead-times and bottlenecks
- Liaising with the commercial team on product deliveries and day to day project matters
- Participating and supporting continuous improvement activities and initiatives
- Other duties, as assigned

- Will interact effectively and regularly with:

- Hourly operations employees including Production Leaders
- Inside Sales departments
- Purchasing
- Logistics & Shipping

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Related post-secondary diploma in Supply Chain management or equivalent
- 2-3 years of previous, related experience in an Inventory or Production role
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred
- Previous experience using an ERP/MRP system is preferred

**Language Skills**:

- Strong written and verbal communications required. Ability to interact clearly and confidently with all levels in the organization.

**Computer Skills**:

- Proficient in ERP systems (knowledge with Visual Manufacturing an asset)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, **Intermediate to Advanced excel skills required**

**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations**:

- Supply Chain certification (CPIM) an asset

**Other Qualifications**:

- Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate information
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong attention to detail
- Problem Solver - Demonstrated ability identifying problems, offering solutions and seeing corrective actions through to completion. - Technical Aptitude - Good working knowledge of planning BOM’s and an understanding of material planning in this environment. Good working knowledge of material planning functions and systems.
