Why is this role important?
- The Program Lead, Master and Reference Data Office (MRDO) is part of a matrix team responsible for defining and implementing an organization-level vision and strategy to enhance master and reference data capabilities for operational, analytical and reporting needs with a focus on key master data domains (e.g. geography, population, organization, and client).
- This position will play a key role in the master and reference data management program of work by leading corporate level work in the reference data domain as well as support for master data domains. As part of this role, you will work closely with other business and technical teams to ensure master and reference data is high quality and available in a timely manner to support the full data lifecycle from collection to reporting. The reference data domain includes oversight of the CIHI Reference Data Model (CRDM) toolkit.
- What you'll do
- 1. Provides leadership in the planning and execution of the department/branch priorities and operational deliverables including: regular updates and enhancements for the reference and master data domains and education and support for use of the reference and master data assets.
- 2. Leads and motivates the team; provides clear direction; effectively delegates and monitors performance results; participates in recruitment activities; supports the team through change; makes decisions that balance the best interest of the team; the organization and its stakeholders; ensures that learning opportunities are provided and leads by example by promoting CIHI’s core values.
- 3. Knowledgeable about standards management, interoperability, and reference and master data. Leverages industry standards and best practices to ensure data is well managed, high quality and compliant with CIHI policies and procedures.
- 4. Participates in relevant corporate initiatives where master and reference data are used. Participation includes, but is not limited to, promoting their effective use corporate-wide by demonstrating practical value in daily business operations, preparing briefing notes and making presentations as needed.
- 5. Builds and maintains strong relationships with leads/stakeholders in the business to ensure understanding and alignment.
- 6. Advocates for the ITS vision of implementing the enterprise data model, recommending re-usable components and standards-based shared solutions through an enterprise architecture.
- 7. Acts as a standards resource by providing expertise and guidance to CIHI business resources and projects as well as other ITS resources to support re-engineering and development projects; leverages and influences standards within CIHI’s business and technical architectural frameworks.
- 8. Drives consensus around internal non-clinical standards in collaboration with representatives across the organization. Obtains support and approval through proper governance channels, interfacing with staff at all levels of the organization.
- What you'll bring to the table
- University degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a health information or health-related field, including providing client support, team leadership, data management and a demonstrated experience in management with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of standards such as ISO (e.g. Health Informatics Standard TC215), pan-Canadian messaging and terminologies (HL7 FHIR), SNOMED CT and other international or Canadian standards.
