**Salary**: $3,241.74 to $4,362.44bi-weekly ($84,609-$113,859/year)

The French Language Services Branch (FLSB) provides support to the Minister, the ministry, four francophone regional authorities (which oversee 46 schools) through translation services and field services. FLSB promotes continuous improvement and system effectiveness with regional authorities, monitors for compliance on accountability/assurance requirements, and facilitates efforts in areas for improvement. This team provides a strategic focus and cohesive approach to implementation of education-related legislation, regulations, policies, programs, and initiatives, while understanding local context and priorities within and across francophone regional authorities. FLSB strives to ensure that francophone education is equitable and supports the rights and access to a francophone education for French first language students, French immersion students, and French second language students (core French).

La Direction des services en français (DSF) offre un soutien au ministre, au ministère et aux quatre autorités régionales francophones (qui supervisent 46 écoles) en offrant des services de traduction et des services externes. La DSF sensibilise les autorités régionales à l’amélioration continue et à l’efficacité du système, vérifie la conformité aux exigences relatives à la responsabilisation et à l’assurance de la qualité et facilite les efforts dans les domaines à améliorer. Cette équipe fournit une orientation stratégique et une approche cohérente pour la mise en œuvre des lois, des règlements, des politiques, des programmes et des projets tout en tenant compte du contexte local et des priorités de chaque autorité régionale francophone, ainsi que de leurs priorités communes. La DSF s’efforce de faire en sorte que l’éducation francophone soit équitable et elle appuie les droits et l’accès à une éducation francophone pour les élèves en français langue première, ainsi que pour ceux en immersion française et en français langue seconde (core French).

**Role Responsibilities**:
The French Language Services Manager is the department's lead to provide the governance and operations parameters to an assigned set of provincial francophone authority superintendents and education directors to align the policies, operations and practices of Kindergarten to Grade 12 education with provincial legislation, regulation, and policy. The French Language Services Manager promotes innovation and system effectiveness; monitors and provides direction to Francophone authorities for compliance on planning, reporting and accountability/assurance requirements, and is accountable for ensuring compliance. This leadership role strengthens connections between ministry priorities and provincial francophone education authority work in the service of students across the province of Alberta.
