DESCRIPTION

Michels Canada is currently on the lookout for a General Superintendent, Deep Foundations who will be accountable for the quality and execution of all deep foundation projects scopes across multiple business units within the Michels Canada Infrastructure Division. This includes working on major open cut utility installation, trenchless/tunneling and power projects.

This position is based in **Nisku, AB**, and may be required to travel for project requirements as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Participate in activities to achieve Company goals by leading strategic initiatives to improve efficiency throughout the business.
- Promote a fiscally responsible, professional culture and work with internal and external shareholders to maintain financial confidentiality and establish trust.
- Oversee all active projects and provides leadership to Superintendents and/or Assistant Superintendents in the field.
- Manages all manpower, materials, and equipment as per the projected execution plan including the coordination of field construction staff.
- Acts as a liaison with other departments to ensure the project schedule is met.
- Coordinates plans with field engineers to overcome any inconsistencies.
- Responsible for detailed direction of construction specifications, budgets, and schedules.
- Uphold company culture and core values by adhering to Michels Canada’s Standards and Policies and working with others to promote and preserve our values while conducting your duties to contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- 15+ years of related experience overseeing the successful execution of deep foundations projects in the field.
- Expertise in sourcing and recommending the appropriate equipment required for various types of ground conditions across Canada.
- Strong ability to coach, mentor and lead teams of superintendents including holding field supervisors and subcontractors accountable to quality and safety standards.
- Experience working with sub-contractors, and driving safety compliance on major projects.

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess some knowledge of estimating.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.

EDUCATION
- Technical trades certification; or certificate in a relevant discipline.

LANGUAGES
- Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
