Canadian Advanced ESP Inc. (CAESP) is a growing manufacturing, engineering, and service solution-focused company that provides state-of-the art electric submersible and surface horizontal pumping systems technology to the global oil and gas industry. The headquarters and main manufacturing, assembly, and testing facility are in Edmonton, Alberta.

Due to changing business requirements, we need to recruit a financial controller (FC). We are looking for an experienced individual who has high ethical standards, is energetic, strategic/forward thinking, driven to achieve results, has a strong operational focus, and relates well with all levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA/CMA certification
- preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role
- Proficiency with accounting software (i.e., SAP Business One) and openness to learning new ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with superior knowledge of Excel, required.

**KEY DUTIES**
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and a focus on data integrity.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule.

- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and ensure compliance with relevant provincial, federal, and international laws and accounting standards.
- You collaborate closely with the senior management team to understand and contribute to all facets of the business.
- Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, and maintain
- accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with management.
- Monitor costs, analyze cost drivers, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Review existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvements that promote effective and efficient workflow.
- Prepares budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
- Ensures the operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts; maintaining equipment inventories; and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
