Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the internal daily accounting transactions & reporting functions, hands-on and daily. The Financial Controller will also work closely with the CFO to support Operations on process improvements, maintaining accounting policies and procedures, establishing standards for accounting, mentoring staff, reviewing financial statements and weekly reporting.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- First and foremost, work closely/support ART team members on the daily transactions in relation to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Fixed Assets and Payroll to ensure continuous accuracy of the balance sheet and P&L
- Work closely with Operations on cost reviews/saving measures
- Daily/weekly/monthly review and reconciliation of all account balances
- Support and assist with month-end and year-end close process
- Assist PMP on investigating variances on project costs
- Assist CFO in the development, improvement and monitoring of internal controls

Transition/progression to include the following responsibilities:

- Coordinate and manage all high-level financial functions including reporting, tax planning, and short and long-term strategic financial and business planning.
- Produce, review and analyze all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage the company's budgets and forecasts. Monitor variances and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Create and implement internal controls/procedures to safeguard company assets and identify areas of improvement.
- Oversee all AP/AR functions; monitor cash/account balances to ensure the company can meet its financial obligations.
- Maintain property and equipment records, including depreciation schedules.
- Maintain accurate financial and accounting records in accordance with government standards and best practices.
- Manage assets and cash flow by analyzing cash requirements and ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Implement strategies to optimize cash resources and identify/mitigate financial losses.
- Lead, support and mentor the accounting team by providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Present findings and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Continuously assess and enhance financial processes, systems, and policies to improve operations and increase efficiency.

**Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- CPA designation
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience as a financial controller
- In-depth knowledge of accounting & financial principles, regulations, procedures and best practices
- Proven experience in the oil & gas industry an asset.
- Advanced level in Excel (Office 365) and other MRP/ERP systems

**Salary**: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
