**Job Purpose**

Glacier FarmMedia (“GFM”) is a dynamic company in the Canadian agriculture industry that connects with farmers through a variety of regional and specialty media franchises (newspapers, magazines, websites, apps), a listings marketplace for the sale of farm equipment (AgDealer), leading industry events (Ag in Motion and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show) and customized offerings for Weather and Market analysis and insights. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team with a primary responsibility to work in the NewsHub team to cover topics relevant to Canadian farmers and rural Canadians. We are looking for journalists with reporting and editing experience in newspapers, magazines and digital publications.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Accountable for contributing to coverage of news and production issues in Canadian agriculture under the guidance of Senior Editor, News & National Affairs and in co-ordination with publication editors and other reporters.
- Responsible for generating story ideas, covering events and issues, writing, photography, and digital journalism.
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the other members of the NewsHub to ensure timely and relevant coverage. This will mean working with publication editors and other reporters, ensuring seamless delivery of commitments.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- Degree or diploma in journalism, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in research, writing and multimedia reporting. '
- Ability to digest complex topics into stories that serve our audience.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Canadian Press style.
- Excellent communication skills with a desire to foster collaboration among cross-functional teams.

**Working Conditions**
- Remote within designated areas of Canada, depending on area of responsibility
