**Scalehouse Operator**

ECCO Recycling & Energy Corporation’s core business is the disposal and recycling of waste. The scale weighs all the inbound waste and outbound materials providing the critical data for generating company revenues. The scale is the single most important piece of equipment we operate on the site and the Scale Operator’s position is a critical role for company operations and success.

**Scale Operations**
- Provide exceptional customer service to our customers, visitors, and delivery persons by greeting them in a friendly and respectful manner and striving to meet both their needs and expectations
- Recognize our regular customers, drivers, and their respective truck
- Present a consistent, courteous “unflappable” demeanor and friendly visage (interact with customers, while expediting movement of the trucks across the scale)
- Exercise clear, friendly, and accurate telephone etiquette; direct calls to the appropriate staff member as needed
- Listen to and endeavor to address customer questions, comments and/ or concerns to customer satisfaction to the best of your ability and/ or as required direct the customer to the appropriate manager
- Divert truck loads with unacceptable waste to alternative disposal sites
- Direct visitors, clients, mechanics and/ or delivery persons to contact persons as required
- Communicate any safety precautions to drivers, delivery persons, RV customers and/ or other site visitors
- Ability to operate the Attended Scale independently, accurately, and efficiently
- Must be familiar with use of computers, possessing keyboard accuracy and speed
- Quickly identify truck and key in client and truck identification to access screen for entry of weight and source information
- Quickly screen content of arriving waste loads for unacceptable waste materials, and to determine the appropriate rate (e.g. clean fill, clean wood, mixed wood, drywall, hard to handle, Freon, etc)
- Confirm the Scale Indicator accurately communicated the weight to the computer, if not, accurately key in weight from the scale in kilograms
- Activate printer to produce a scale ticket; two copies for the driver, or with special arrangements to be held on file for month-end mailing, one signed copy for ECCO’s records
- File daily ticket copies to be held for hard copy record purposes
- Follow similar procedure for cash accounts with tares, or individual new entries, except put the vehicle in hold file until the empty truck is re-weighed to provide a tare - then produce one ticket to be signed by the driver for ECCO and two tickets for the driver, accept payment
- Identify any errors in scale transactions and remedy promptly and accordingly
- Handle cash
- Exercises honesty and integrity when working with company funds
- Receive cash and make change
- Shift end cash out procedures
- Answer in-coming calls / direct to the appropriate team member

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
