Asphalt Plant Groundman

We are looking to add an **Asphalt Plant Groundman** to our Asphalt plant located in **Balzac, Alberta**.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Unload Asphalt Cement Oil from bulker to storage tanks under strict safety procedures
- Performs maintenance and service on the asphalt plant when required, including lube, fuel and grease activities
- Communicate with outgoing asphalt truckers on queuing and positioning under silo
- Perform general yard and tool shed housekeeping
- Perform clean up under the feed bins, conveyors and transfer points
- Practice open 2-way radio communication with the asphalt plant crew to ensure plant is properly maintained and constantly monitored
- Ability to perform work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work periodic night shift
- Back up loader operator as required
- Back up plant loadout operator as required
- Back up recycle yard scale operator as required
- Any other duties as required

**Required Knowledge and Experience**
- Minimum one year of experience in asphalt plant production and/or operations.
- Must have a valid driver license and own a vehicle
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly
- The ability to understand and interpret written material, especially technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, and reports; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to respond appropriately to the needs and capabilities of others; adjusts approaches to suit different people and situations.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions for self and others sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment.
- Knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures sufficient to be able to assist in developing and maintaining programs for preventive maintenance.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees.
