Carmichael Engineering offers a unique and exciting opportunity for post-secondary students in the health and safety field. This role, based in Vancouver, BC, is a full-time temporary position that provides a rich learning environment for Health and Safety students in a co-op post-secondary program at a university or college.

This position is a temporary full time role, starting immediately until the end of Summer/beginning of the school year.

Rate: $18-20 per hour.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- With the guidance of the EHS Manager, develop, review, and revise Safe Work Procedures as required.
- Implement Safe Work Practices.
- Complete the Pre-Start Reviews and Job Hazard Assessment as required.
- Conduct incident/accident investigation.
- Conducts Worksite Inspections and provides proactive measures.
- Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used and maintained by team members.
- Document potential hazards, accidents, and near misses and follow up on reported hazards, accidents, and near misses.
- Organize monthly JHSC meetings and conduct JHSC worksite inspections as needed.
- Conduct Vehicle inspections.

**Mandatory Qualifications**:

- Must be enrolled in a post-secondary diploma or degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Management from a recognized college or university
- Ability to communicate in a classroom or board room setting to complete site-specific orientations, safety talks, and Field-Level Risk Assessments.
- Must possess a Valid Driver’s license and be able to provide a current driver's abstract with less than 6 demerit points.
