**About Us**:
Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) is part of Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation and has the mandated responsibility to operate, maintain and keep safe the provincially owned water infrastructure. The Branch is made up of multidisciplinary teams including Operation, Maintenance, Safety, Capital Replacement/Rehabilitation, Alberta Dam and Canal Safety, Environmental Mitigation and Monitoring and Land Management administration. WIOB is Province wide with office locations in Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Spruce Grove and Peace River as well as several field offices at major infrastructure like the St Mary Dam, Oldman River Dam and Dickson Dam.

**If you have land management experience and feel you can lead a specialized team that administers the land base for provincially owned water management infrastructure, then we have an opportunity for you as the Land Management Coordinator in our Lethbridge office**

As the Land Management Coordinator, you will work within legal and policy frameworks to ensure approximately 2.5 million acres of water infrastructure land meets the operation and maintenance requirements of the Branch and that the land base supports the multipurpose use of water management lands in Alberta.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Working with landowners to obtain agreements for access to private land to facilitate the operation, maintenance and surveillance of water management infrastructure.
- Developing guidelines and processes to ensure the land management needs of Operations Infrastructure Branch are met and provide responses consistent with existing legislation, regulations and policy.

**About Your Work Environment**
You will be working primarily in an office setting in downtown Lethbridge; however, some fieldwork on reservoirs and in natural areas is required to effectively support the land management team. As the Land Management Coordinator, you will have on-going contact with clients and liaise with land managers in Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation, Environment Protected Areas, Transportation and Corridors, Infrastructure, and the Alberta Energy Regulator.

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications**

**Two (2) year** technical diploma preferably in a field of study related to land management, Agriculture and Related Technologies, Engineering and Science or Environmental and related Studies and a **minimum of six (6) years related experience.**

Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**Assets**:

- Experience with supervision of staff or a team lead position
- Familiarity with the duties of a Land Agent, Planner, Negotiator or other land titles experience.
- Experience completing land title searches, determination of public land status and interpretation of registered plans
- Examination and interpretation of engineering plans and reports related to infrastructure projects
- Administration of agreements related to agricultural, utility, or oil and gas sectors, or for municipal development
- Familiarity with the Public Lands Act and the Alberta Land Stewardship Act
- Registration with Association of Science & Engineering Technology
- (ASET)
- Experience managing Crown Lands to support infrastructure systems
