The equity research associate will assist an equity research analyst in conducting fundamental research and analysis on public and private companies; this research will serve to support the production of investment reports, recommendations and financial forecasts for publicly listed equities. The associate will collect and organize financial, economic and other industry specific data and information from various sources in order to build and maintain financial models, charts, tables and other outputs necessary for the production of research reports, presentations, and other documents. The associate will also carry out qualitative research on competitive industry forces, competitive advantages and management teams.

All employees are expected to contribute to general business development at iACM, which may require the associate to occasionally undertake tasks outside the scope of the research department.

**Summary of key responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the sector analyst and other associates on the production of research publications and reports;
- Conduct primary research from industry and financial sources;
- Create and maintain detailed company specific financial models and industry databases;
- Compile and evaluate company specific and industry data;
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong academic record and an undergraduate degree in a related field (Finance, Economics, Accounting);
- Completion of CFA Level 1 preferred, and a commitment to completing the CFA program;
- Demonstrated passion for finance, fundamental equity analysis, and capital markets;
- Strong work ethic; high attention to detail; ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal);
- Willingness to “roll up the sleeves” and put in the hours (often on short notice) - evening and weekend work is often required
- Additional assets include: Previous capital markets experience, particularly in investment research; direct knowledge of the Power/Utility/Infrastructure sectors; fluency in French; knowledge of Bloomberg, Eikon/Refinitiv, S&P Global Market Intelligence
