**Summary of Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager, Grants & Partnerships, the Fund Development Specialist will be an

integral part of the fundraising team, providing essential database administration, prospecting,

and fundraising support to the Fund Development and Accounting teams. The incumbent will

be trusted to explore innovative solutions with the goal of enhancing operational and

fundraising efficiencies. This role is ideal for someone who is excited by the opportunity to

create order and process in a high performance environment. This is a hybrid role that allows

flexibility for time spent working in the office and working remotely.

**The main duties of the role include**:

- Leading the management of Raiser's Edge database maintaining accuracy, integrity, and security of all data and ensuring all donor and prospect activity is accurately captured.
- This includes pulling queries from Raiser's Edge to support the Fund Development team.
- Working in close collaboration with the accounting team to ensure financial reports are updated and tax receipts are issued in a timely manner with appropriate acknowledgment.
- Primarily responsible for processing gift entries and working closely with the accounting team to ensure a streamlined process for donor experience.
- Supporting the Manager, Grants & Partnerships with the development of funding proposals for individual, corporate, foundation and institutional donors, preparing relevant gift acknowledgments and other donor correspondence.
- Working with prospecting software (GrantConnect, iWave, CharityCAN, etc.) to identify leads for investment opportunities (i.e. grants and/or corporate giving).
- Acting as the main point of contact for donor tax receipting questions and donor
- administrative needs.
- Supporting the donor stewardship program, in conjunction with other members of the Fund Development team.
- Supporting the Marketing & Communications with quarterly newsletter distribution.
- Acting as a representative of BBBST at various in-person events and meetings that support the work of the agency.

**Experience and skills that are ideal for this role**:

- Three (3) years of relevant experience from a comparable fundraising work environment
- High level of proficiency working with Raiser’s Edge NXT & Database view, including extracting reports/queries, list and data manipulation, mail merge, etc.
- High level of proficiency with suite of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
- Excellent administrative and project management skills, comfortable creating and implementing new business processes
- Highly organized, able to prioritize and work independently
- Knowledge of Canadian charity tax rules and familiar with tax receipting processes
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to write professional donor-facing communications
- Exceptional customer service skills and experience working with donors
- Ability to use discretion, judgment and tact when problem-solving and handling sensitive,
- confidential information
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders of varying levels of seniority
