- Perform data entry, data modification and update, and data extraction tasks related to the Power Distribution System facilities, ensuring accuracy and functionality in required data records.
- Develop and maintain facility datasets required for digital network models for Distribution systems, such as substations and feeder devices, utilizing industry-standard modeling software and methodologies.
- Assist in representing planned Distribution System facilities, to pre-view and maintain accurate and up-to-date network models, by gathering all relevant information about the planned facilities, such as the location, equipment specifications, and electrical parameters, from engineering designs, technical specifications, or other relevant sources, ensuring the data is accurate, complete, and complies with company guidelines; Input the collected data into the GIS and other required databases, creating geospatial features to represent the planned facilities and assign appropriate attributes, such as voltage levels, equipment types, and other pertinent details; Ensure the new facilities are correctly connected to the existing network within the GIS system, following appropriate topology rules and connectivity relationships; Perform quality checks on the entered data to ensure suitability for accurate network modeling and analyses.
- Collaborate with the ADMS Network Model Coordinator team to ensure timely data set creation, modification and extraction using GIS, PSDB, PCMIS, etc. for seamless integration of digital network models.
- Collaborate with the ADMS SCADA team to ensure seamless integration of digital network models with real-time monitoring and control functions.
- Assist in the implementation in ADMS of planned distribution automation and smart grid technologies.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of data management protocols, standards, and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution of issues impacting system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including planning, engineering, operations, and IT, to address data-related needs and support ongoing process improvements.
- Assist in studies to define and document functional requirements, data requirements, and operational constraints related to potential operating and information technology solutions for network modeling problems. Assist in the creation of pilot or prototype solutions.
- Assist in operating and information technology product acquisition and upgrade activities for products. Prepare and maintain test data. Perform evaluation tests. Analyze and report test results and observations.
- Assist in design, development and implementation activities for distribution utility data conversion and migration systems. Develop and demonstrate prototype conversion systems or databases. Design interfaces with other systems or databases. Design data flows and logic flows. Determine level of auditing, controls, backup, and security procedures to be applied. Develop migration test plans and procedures. Develop operating procedures and arrange for commissioning and implementation of migrated data in a production environment. Perform post-implementation reviews with data users.
- Assist in the maintenance of simple to complex products, data systems, or databases. Advise and assist the operating technology team concerning the production use of data systems or databases. Implement and document minor enhancements and changes to meet new user needs. Analyze trouble reports and take corrective actions. Resolve emergency problems under time constraints. Identify latent problems and implement changes to eliminate or bypass them.
- Prepare correspondence dealing with distribution facilities data issues. Participate in planning and review meetings. Prepare specifications, proposals, investigative reports, business-case documents, design documents, maintenance documentation, operating instructions, and user manuals.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and technologies.
- Within the general context of the job responsibilities, make suggestions to supervisor on how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness.
