We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our licensed cannabis indoor grow facility on Vancouver Island, BC. This role will report to the Plant Manager and designated management as required. This position is responsible in providing hands on diversified, technical support towards maintenance activities for the facility as well as assisting the Cultivation Department with day-to-day plant activities. This will include, but not limited to the repair and maintenance of the facility and its equipment and hands-on work in production.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide general and technical maintenance and repairs for our facility and equipment;
- Troubleshoot and operate programs and equipment including, but not limited to electrical, HVAC, control systems (Building Automation System, Enteleweb, Conviron) CO2 systems, air filtration, plumbing, boilers and chillers, irrigation systems etc.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production cycles;
- Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production facilities and equipment such as tools, machinery and generators etc.;
- Clean external equipment and structures such as condensers, A/C units, vents and gutters as required; Change HVAC filters on fan coils and condenser units in facilities;
- Change pumps and valves as necessary, adding new lines and equipment within facilities as required;
- Perform minor equipment installations;
- Coordinate contractor callouts for complicated equipment and system repairs;
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders; Perform daily work orders as received and prioritized by the Plant Manager;
- Ensure appropriate inventory levels for maintenance supplies/parts;
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and organized work areas;
- Support the cultivation department with tasks such as plant work, harvests, sanitation etc.;
- Other tasks and duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING:

- High School Diploma/GED and completion of a relevant trade apprenticeship; equivalent education and experience will be considered;
- HVAC certification or other relevant certifications strongly preferred;
- Ability to lift and move items over 75 lbs.; This position requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling and crouching;
- Strong technical, mechanical and problem-solving aptitude;
- Advanced understanding of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, boilers and chillers and other systems;
- Strong familiarity with Controls Software Programs (building automation systems, Enteleweb, Conviron)
- In depth knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods;
- Applicable knowledge of tools, common appliances and equipment.
- Forklift or Scissor lift certification is an asset.

You Are TECHNICALLY SAVVY, well versed in facility systems, equipment, maintenance and operations.

You Are PROCESS DRIVEN AND RESULTS ORIENTED, capable of troubleshooting issues independently and able to work collaboratively with a team.

You Are DISCIPLINED, HIGHLY ORGANIZED AND METHODICAL, able to manage multiple projects in parallel and complete tasks in a timely manner.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

- 4+ years technical maintenance experience; mechanical, industrial or HVAC;
- Experience working in a manufacturing or processing facility; and
- Experience with safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
