Maintenance Worker

**Job Objectives**:

The Maintenance Worker is a key member of the team responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance and repair of our facility, tools and non-mobile equipment and assisting with our inventory of new truck chassis. By ensuring that the facility and equipment supports the work of the Company, they contribute to the smooth functioning of the manufacturing process and all other aspects of the enterprise.

Reports to: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Lead
Supervises: N/A
Internal Contacts: Purchasers, Supervisors, Production Workers
External Contacts: Suppliers, Contractors
Key Responsibility Areas:
**Facility Repairs/Upgrades**:
- Performs maintenance on a wide variety of building elements, including compressors, air conditioning and furnaces, plumbing, lights, fans, doors, and electrical systems (120 V).
- Responds promptly to requests for immediate needs for repair or maintenance.
- Performs hands-on fabrication within the building and outbuildings.
- Performs updates and upgrades to the existing facility including light construction, drywall and painting.
**Tool and Equipment Repair**:
- Uses hand tools, and power tools, for general repair and maintenance.
- Assists in the repair of tools and equipment from other departments.
**Preventive Maintenance Program**:
- Works with the Supervisor - Maintenance, and other client departments, to develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
**Truck Inventory**
- Moves and organizes in the yard inventory as required.
- Ensures proper maintenance of trucks, charging batteries, ensuring trucks are winterized, removing snow, etc.
**Projects / Other Assignments**:
- Works on related projects or initiatives as assigned.
- Helps to provide Lawn Maintenance and Snow Removal.
Qualifications:
**Education**:
- Grade 12
**Experience**:
- Comfort and familiarity with using hand and power tools.
- Experience in some of the following areas: carpentry, basic electrical wiring, plumbing, equipment repair, drywall, painting and various handyman duties.
- Building Maintenance System; HVAC systems
- Commercial and/or Residential Property maintenance is preferred
**Certification**:
- A valid Class 3 Drivers License with airbrake endorsement is an asset.
- Safety certificates as required.
- Provide a drivers Abstract
**Computer Knowledge**:
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel

Working Conditions:
- Work will frequently be in a shop environment which may be dusty and noisy, and present a variety of hazards.
- The Maintenance Worker may be required to work indoors or outdoors, and in a variety of weather conditions including snow, rain and extreme heat or cold.
- Worker must provide their own CSA-approved steel-toed boots, and clothing appropriate to conditions. Other PPE and specialized gear will be provided.
- Consistent use of all necessary PPE is a requirement of this position.
