You will be a key player of the finance team - leading, administering, and managing pivotal financial areas of the business. Reporting to our company’s Financial Reporting Manager, you will partner with assigned business line(s) and project teams to assess, research, analyze and document business and system requirements, and recommend solutions that meet stakeholder/business needs.

**Responsibilities**
- Coordinate and complete month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including, but not limited to, preparing journal entries, balance sheet & bank account reconciliation, and key variance analysis to help guide business decisions.
- Generate weekly and monthly reporting to investors and lenders
- Required to support and streamline daily, weekly, monthly reconciliations of GL ledgers
- Review and maintain general ledger system within ERP system (NetSuite)
- Assist with OpEx forecasting and perform variance analysis
- Assist with various Financial Reporting team and Finance special projects and new business initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting and accounting processes and controls with a focus on building efficiency and effectiveness
- Maintain and enhance a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results
- Contributing to the Finance team as a strategic thinker, highlighting concerns or potential risks in a proactive manner.
- Provide financial analyses as required for all business units
- Ability to communicate effectively and develop/manage relationships with internal and external business stakeholders
- Prepare and update working papers requested by auditors for quarterly financial review and annual audit.

**Requirements**:

- Must have or be working towards an accounting designation (CA, CPA, CGA, CMA)
- Experience with external audit engagements of public companies is a plus
- Experience with cross border (US and CAD) financial transactions is a plus
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Expert level in Excel and the Microsoft suite of programs
- Financially fluent with a keen focus on drivers of the business - not just the numbers but a passion to tell the story
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure
- Proactive approach to planning and executing
- Expert verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate financial information and complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to all levels of management including senior leaders

- Strong attention to detail and organization skills, motivated and able to multitask.
