Position Title: COFFEE & GIFT SHOP STAFF

Department: RASCALS COFFEE / GIFT SHOP

Supervisor: Rascals Supervisor

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for service and sales in the Rascals Coffee and Gift shop, including some food preparation, sale of coffee and gift shop inventory, periodic inventories of merchandise and supplies, and, overall, to act as ambassadors on behalf of Edgewood both on and off the job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Cash management, including sales, daily sales summaries and sales reconciliations.
- Periodic inventories and stock rotation.
- Food service and preparation.
- Maintenance of stock levels as needed.
- Light housekeeping and maintenance.
- Ordering of supplies as directed.
- Ensures patients are not in the store when they have scheduled activities.
- Immediately notifies the appropriate clinical staff and management in the event of any emergency or unusual circumstance.
- Assist Rascals Supervisor as needed.

Experience and Qualifications:

- Previous Barista experience an asset.
- Retail experience an asset.
- Must have proven ability and competency in Coffee and Gift Shop functions and ensure familiarity with Edgewood Policy and Procedures.
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent diploma.
- Previous cash management experience an asset.
- Must possess superior verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
- Current Food Safe Certification.

Conditions of Employment:

- Reports directly to the Store Supervisor.
- Six month probation period.
- Annual performance review.
- Annual vacation and statutory holidays as per personnel policy.
- Sick leave as per personnel policy schedule.
- Normal Work hours: as per Coffee & Gift Shop Schedule and on call availability.
- Overtime may be required - see personnel policy.
- Salaries will be reviewed annually and may be adjusted according to budget and performance.

- Abide by Edgewood policies and procedures.
- Provide Covid-19 vaccinations.

The Human Resources Department and the employee shall sign and date the job description to affirm the validity of the information herein. The Coffee & Gift Shop Staff member shall also sign and date the description to signify compliance with the conditions of employment, minimum qualifications and understanding of the job responsibilities.
