**1.** **JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY**

Research and purchase raw materials for Canadian and US manufacturing facilities.

**2.** **DUTIES AND TASKS**
- Following production planning, purchase and maintain proper inventory levels of raw materials, factory supplies and packaging materials.
- Correspond with suppliers to expedite shipments.
- Enforce Quality Assurance specifications with vendors.
- Ensure that the best quality product is sourced at the most competitive prices and source new and alternative suppliers as required.
- Negotiate and maintain purchasing contracts for components as required.
- Maintain the approved vendor’s list.
- Maintain inventory database - products on order, delivery dates, total value, etc.(ERP)
- Provide suppliers with monthly open order reports.
- Interface with other departments to coordinate new products, alternative suppliers for all ingredient sourcing and product pricing.
- Coordinate with Quality Control to obtain certificates and other documents as required.
- Research raw materials and purchase for submittal to R & D team when required

**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES**
- Must be fully conversant in purchasing.
- Must be able to work with in-house staff.
- Must be sufficiently proficient with computer software to utilize job management (ERP), work processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Must have strong oral, written and communication skills.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Education required: College degree with administrative courses.
- Education preferred: University degree with administrative courses.
- Experience required: Two years as Buyer in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience preferred: Five years as Buyer in a manufacturing environment.
- Language: Fully bilingual.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
