**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Café Manager and collaborating closely with our Barista team and overseeing daily café operations. In this multifaceted role, you will shoulder four key responsibilities. Firstly, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest coffee standards, constantly seeking ways to enhance quality, managing product orders, and nurturing supplier relationships. Secondly, you will take the lead behind the bar, ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional customer service, and setting a motivating example for our Baristas to follow. Furthermore, you will curate an engaging coffee culture by conceptualizing and conducting public events like "Beginner's Guide to Specialty Coffee" and "Latte Art Classes."

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Consistently provide exceptional hospitality, actively seeking opportunities to exceed guest expectations
- Train, mentor, and oversee the Barista team, ensuring skill development and effective performance.
- Develop and introduce innovative and appealing coffee and tea recipes, reflecting the establishment's character, style, and customer tastes.
- Provide comprehensive knowledge of coffee, tea, and other café beverages, staying abreast of trends and advancements in the coffee industry.
- Expertly prepare and serve a diverse range of hot and cold drinks, including alcoholic beverages, with attention to detail in presentation and garnishes.
- Promote a positive and collaborative work atmosphere, actively contributing to team dynamics and assisting colleagues in meeting shared objectives.
- Efficiently manage inventory, including stock levels and order placement.
- Handle invoice processing in accordance with Fitzrovia's filing system.
- Conduct monthly inventory checks to ensure accurate stock control.
- Meticulously track and manage recipe costs for budget efficiency.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in the café area, ensuring proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Rigorously adhere to health and safety standards and enforce provincial/territorial regulations related to food and beverage service.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and confidently make recommendations to customers.
- Handle cash and payment transactions with accuracy and integrity, ensuring financial responsibility.
- Collaborate closely with the site team for 10 DEAN and Property Events, offering expertise and creative input in event planning.
- Lead and organize public events such as "Beginner's Guide to Specialty Coffee," "Latte Art Classes," and other engaging activities.

**Qualifications and Experiences**:

- Bachelors degree, Diploma or Certificate in hospitality management or event management is an asset
- 2-3 years of barista and specialty coffee experience
- Food Handlers’ and Smart Serve Certificates are required
- Hospitality-driven, positive attitude, able to provide outstanding customer service
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of coffee origins, processing, extraction principles and sensory skills
- Confidence with espresso machines and creating a variety of beverages
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
- Passionate about food and beverage, especially coffee and wine service
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Self-motivated, curious, responsive, and result driven.
- Strong teamwork, decision & problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of cocktails, beer and wine is an asset
