**Live-in Companion (Healthcare)**

**Job Summary**:
As a Live-in Companion in healthcare, your primary role is to provide companionship, support, and assistance to individuals who require live-in care. You will reside in the individual's home, offering both emotional and practical support to promote their overall well-being and independence. This role requires empathy, patience, and the ability to create a positive and comfortable living environment for the individual.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations, provide emotional support, and offer companionship to the individual, fostering a sense of connection and well-being.

2. Daily Living Assistance: Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support.

3. Meal Planning and Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring the individual receives proper nutrition.

4. Medication Management: Help the individual adhere to their medication schedule, including medication reminders, assistance with administration, and recording.

5. Household Management: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying up the living space, to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.

6. Appointment Coordination: Schedule and accompany the individual to medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as required.

7. Safety Monitoring: Regularly assess the living environment for potential hazards, implement necessary safety measures, and address any concerns promptly.

8. Emotional Support: Provide empathy, understanding, and a listening ear to the individual, helping them cope with any emotional challenges they may face.

9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and any notable changes in the individual's physical or mental health.

10. Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for the individual.

**Qualifications and Skills**:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Vulnerable Sector Police Check and

3. TB Test - Medical Report (within 6 months)

4. Valid First AID and CPR level C

5. Prior experience in caregiving, companionship, or a related field is preferred.

6. Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature.

7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with individuals requiring care.

9. Flexibility to adapt to the individual's routine and changing needs.

10. Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.

11. Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR. (CPR Level C required)

12. Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility.

**Note**: The specific job requirements and living arrangements may vary depending on the individual's needs and the healthcare organization or agency involved.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 44 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
