**SUPERVISOR, FOOD SERVICES (25-0000125)**

**Bargaining Unit: Non-Union**
**Status: Part Time (0.6 FTE)**
**Department: Nutrition & Food Services**
**Site: St. Joseph's Hospital**
**Location: Thunder Bay, ON**
**Shifts: Days**
**Hourly Rate: $34.41 to $43.01**

Reporting to the Manager - Nutrition & Food Services, the Supervisor provides direct supervision to Food Service staff to ensure the delivery of services is consistent and meets the required quality standards. Provides coverage at other St. Joseph's Care Group sites as required.

**Qualifications**:
**_Education/Experience:_**
- Degree or diploma in Food Service Management, or other related field
- 1-2 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity, preferably in a healthcare facility
- Advanced Food Safety Certification
- Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM), or commitment to obtain within one year of hire

**_Skills/Abilities:_**
- Knowledge of evidence-based and/or prevailing practices relating to food services
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Proven ability to establish and maintain good working relations with coworkers and the general public
- Ability to identify, understand, and meet/exceed the requirements of internal and external customers
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, motivate, evaluate, and recognize staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations specific to Food Services
- Proven ability to improve effectiveness and efficiencies through the supervision and utilization of human, financial, and physical resources
- Ability to think and act strategically, including the ability to conceptualize and implement change strategies
- Strong project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with office computer equipment and software
- Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- Ability to travel to various work locations as required and provide own transportation
- Must be able to work evening and weekends as required to ensure adherence to appropriate standards
