**Indigenous Internship / Auxiliary Appointment -**

**Summer 2024**

Named one of BC’s Top Employers for five years running, the BCUC is an independent regulatory
agency of the Government of British Columbia. We ensure that residents and businesses receive
safe, reliable energy and basic auto insurance at fair rates. The BCUC also regulates common carrier
pipeline operations, and we promote market competitiveness by collecting and publishing
information about gasoline and diesel fuel activities in BC. We facilitate fair, transparent, and
inclusive regulatory processes that balance ratepayer interests with the needs of regulated entities
to earn a fair return on their capital investments.

**About the role**: this position is intended to be an engaging and immersive experience that provides

contribute innovative ideas based on their unique perspective as an Indigenous person.

- Columbians. _**About you**:this position is open to students and recent graduates of relevant post‐secondary

undergraduate and graduate degree programs (e.g., Indigenous studies, law, accounting, energy
management, economics, public policy), as well as professionals with an equivalent combination of
- _experience who currently work with an Indigenous group/organization within BC.
- _ have lived experience as part of an Indigenous community (or communities);
have experience with, knowledge of, and/or interest in Indigenous communities,
**_Values: _**governments, and organizations in BC, as well as energy system(s) and regulation, including
- Accessibility _Indigenous‐led energy projects, best practices and emerging trends;
- Integrity _ enjoy collaborating and engaging with individuals from a diversity of backgrounds; and

bring strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

- Innovation _**Expected pay range**: $25 ‐ 35/hour for students and recent graduates; $30 ‐ 50/hour for established
